Scotland’s leading specialist joinery company, SD Manufacturing Ltd, worked closely with Balustrade Maintenance, to manufacture the stair treads for a Solid Oak staircase on behalf of a private client.

“We designed and constructed the stair treads in sections to allow for hidden internal fixings within the main structure of the staircase. The clients remit was for no visible fixings if possible, which we achieved as requested. It was important to the client that the staircase would retain its beauty despite heavy traffic.
“We used Solid Oak hardwood treated with an Osmo Oil finish to produce these custom-built stair treads. The finish achieved highlights the natural beauty of the wood, giving an extremely durable tread which will be easy to maintain.
“The end result is a stunning floating effect staircase with glass balustrade and stainless-steel handrails.”
